YMCA Staff Members Make the Difference!

At the YMCA, all of our staff are educated and trained in child development and certified in first aid and CPR.  Our caring and well-trained staff is dedicated to providing your child with a fun, enriching, and educational before-and-after school experience.

OUR PROGRAM

With so many demands on today's families, parents need all the support that they can get.  That's why childcare at the Y is about more than looking after kids.  It's about nurturing their development and providing them with a safe place to learn foundational skills, develop healthy and trusting relationships, and build self-reliance through the Y values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Your child will experience our well-rounded curriculum through a variety of content areas, hands-on activities, clubs, and service learning projects.  YMCA staff members include the children in the curriculum planning process and pursue children's ideas for activities.  Programs include:

  • Homework Support
  • Fitness & Nutrition
  • Art & Culture
  • Sports & Cooperative Games
  • Science & Technology
  • Social Competence and Personal Development
  • Character Education
  • Literacy
  • Diversity and Cultural Awareness

Y-Clubs will engage your child and encourage them to explore their talents, interests, and abilities in a safe & supportive environment.  Y-Clubs include:

  • Photography 101
  • Art - Then and Now
  • Health and Nutrition
  • Cooking
  • Science
